Productivity – introduction2017-08-02
Productivity. What it is?
Many people talk about it but what it actually is? One of the most important rules of productivity is to do things which we please.
It’s hard to be productive by forcing yourself to perform certain activities. Unfortunately, these days it’s sometimes hard to do what you like, so at least have some satisfaction with the tasks we have completed. Productivity is the ratio of efficiency and productivity to time. We can’t talk about productivity when a task takes us twice as much time as we have assumed (or it should ), it means something went wrong. Planning? Execution? Focusing?
How to be productive?
First and foremost, you need to take care of good organization of work, and planning. Without a plan of work, we will neither be productive nor efficient. You may not plan and live from hour to hour, from day to day without a plan. But why? Constant changes, chasing thoughts, wasting time trying to remember what we were suppose to be doing at particular moment.
Another problem is the constant tangle of thoughts. Muddle in the head does not help being productive. Of course, there are a lot of interesting ideas, is a big advanatge, but why keep them all in your mind? The human mind is falliable, and very small percentage of people have divided attention. Another productivity rule is to make notes.
Concentration on assigned tasks. That’s what we should do while working.
Many tools, such as to-do lists, timers, calendars, and note-taking applications, help to be productive. There are plenty of tools which make being productive easier, and the choice which tools to use and how depends on particular person.
You can have a lot of tools in your arsenal to be productive however, inefficient use or negligence make us non-productive again. Consequence of action is probably the most important and iron rule of the productivity, which occurs as difficult problem to many people.
In this cycle I will try to bring you all the rules of the producitvity I know. I will guide and teach you to use productivity tools so that you actually know when and how to use them. In addition, I will share with you reflections about my struggles on being more productive.
Productivity saves time that you can spend e.g. on family meetings.
